Front Wheel Bearing Strategy

My wheel bearing strategy is to let the experts do it.

Sending my hubs to one of our suppliers for the 25,000 mile inspection and
renewal should improve the odds of trouble free operation.

Cinnabar says they will install new bearings on both old hubs for one hour
shop labor plus the price of the new bearings. Other suppliers should be
about the same price.

If I was worried about bearing failure, I would carry a spare hub with
a brake rotor, retainer and new lubricated bearing already installed on the
hub.

This spare hub assembly will fit the knuckle on either side and a slide
hammer grabbing two of the wheel studs seems the only "special tooling"
needed to remove the old and install the new hub assembly. Most any shop
should handle this part OK.

If I don't want to carry a spare, one of our GMC suppliers can put this
assembly together and air freight it to me most anywhere overnight.

Am I missing something with this approach ?
