My driver's side hub has zero play. The passenger side has maybe 15 to 20 thousandths.

When should I start to worry?

Thanks.

I would worry now.

hub should be pretty damn tight. now if you are mistaking the play for ball joints, that is a different discussion.

it is usually the knuckle bore that goes to hell, bearings then the hub. most hubs are OK but still need to be carefully checked, bearings should
be replaced when taken apart, but it is knuckle bore that is almost always out of spec, and you should get a rebuilt knuckle or have it checked by
someone that is really experienced in GMC front ends.

Put you finger next to the knuckle and drive axel ans see if there is any
play. If there is I can be 95% sure your Knuckle is worn.
We supply a rebuilt knuckle that will solve your problem, and if you need a
bearing puller, we rent them and give you 100% instruction to do it
properly.
