We are replacing the headliner in our 75 Glenbrook, has anyone replaced
the track that the front drape glides on, is there anything to replace
the original one, or do we stay with the old one?
Any suggestions? Thanks

Replaced the front drape track using an Aluminum L-beam track for shower
curtain
It comes in 96" with carrier slides on rollers
Removed the existing track to use as a pattern
Using a Hack Saw cut a series of lines and V-Grooves in the mounting
flange of the new track in order to bend in to match the old one

I also extended the new tracks to meet in the center of the windshield
behind the rear view mirror. Also extended the other end back behind the
overhead cabinets a few inches used a canvas type snap to fasten
tie-back to wall behind cockpit seats.

Verry pleased with the results, more privacy and my co-pilot no longer
complains when she has to open/close front drape. I understand that
there is also a track availabie without a flange that would make the
bending job a lot easier it is fastened by brackets that slide on the
top of the track .Wish I knew that beforehand.HTH

You might want to call fellow GMCer's Ken and Margaret Guske at (810) 987-5788.
They sell window treatments for our coaches, are very knowledgeable, and have a
pleated front window wrap that hangs from an I-beam aluminum track. It mounts in
the position of the original and is very effective.

Ken & Virginia,

Just happened to see a knockout GMC sitting down on Pompano Beach last
night, went up and knocked on the door - belonged to Ken & Margaret
Guske. They gave me the tour and I was very impressed with the front
drapes they have in their coach. Top notch in appearance, and
quality. The package they sell includes the drapes, new track
hardware and pretty cool tie backs. All custom made for the GMC.
Just my opinion - but I thought they looked great.

The Guske's are probably heading for the Great Lakers rally in Titusville
next month. Where are they staying in Pompano?

BTW, Keith have you fallen in love with FT Lauderdale yet?

Thanks for the report. I've been considering buying the drape/shade package
the Guske's are offering. I've put it off because I've never seen the
finished product. From your comments, it sounds like it is will a worthwhile
addition to our '76 Palm Beach.
