I am about to replace my bearing assemblies and assemble the hub and
knuckle unit. How do I determine that I have the outer seal in the
proper place. Do I put it in after the bearings are installed and set it
in as far as it will go?
The service manual does not address this placement. Looking at all of
the guides on-line does not address this point.
However, what I have read makes mention that this seal placement is
critical. This is the seal that rides on the outside joint/housing
closet to the wheel.
