Lanier,

My 73 has the same arrangement - filler is under the propane compartment
door. I'm thinking of relocating to the driver's side, where later
models had the filler.

Because that's not where it's supposed to be! Actually, that might
not be a bad idea - keep the pipe run short. I was thinking of trying
to duplicate the installation that the factory used on later models.
