About a month ago I asked you all what mufflers you had upgraded to, a few
gave me the Flowmaster Big Block I. Looking for improved performance I
contacted Flowmaster (1-800-544-4761) and was directed to Juanita who is in
charge for the RV division of Flowmaster. She quickly explained that there
was not at present a "kit" for the GMC MH but could help me if I was really
interested.
Their web page was still under developement at the time.
Long Story Shorted, I had two Big Block II '70' series mufflers installed
with their performance "Y" and 3" exhaust pipe out the back end of the Coach
as was done with the 2-1/2" factory pipe. I am very impressed with the
increase in performance and sound; slightly louder and deeper at idle, and
can't tell any difference in sound running down the road.
I just returned from Sturgis; plenty of power and speed; thanks to Dr.
Jacobs and Flowmaster; ran with the big boys at speeds up to 75 mph, and
averaged 8 mpg.
