Looking for feedback from those GMC'ers running FiTech Fuel Injection system in their coach. Although working fine, I'm tired of fiddling with the
EBL and looking for more simplicity and reliability.

Please only respond on the forum as I am not an email subscriber and emails make forum thread tracking impossible. Thanks, Woody.

I've had the FItech since early last summer. I replaced a POS system from Professional Products that failed within 4000 miles of installation. I'm
still fighting with that company. After I installed the FItech my 455 started right up, ran a little rough. I took it for a shake down run of about 10
miles and before I got back to the garage it was running great. It will spin the tires at a stop light and it idles so smooth I sometimes have to
check my tach to see if it is still running. I only managed to put about 2500 miles on my coach since the install, but so far I am very happy. I
usually drive about 70 mph and average a little over 8 mpg. I kept it around 65 on one trip and got over 10, however I may have had a tail wind as I
haven't gotten that mpg again.
AS Jim Bounds says "Life is more than just MPG".

There is a seminar that Jerry Work gave at the GMCWS rally at Coos Bay in October at gmcws.org. Also, some notes on my installation and some
subsequent notes at minniebiz.com. There is more stuff on Facebook if you care to look - that is where most of the activity takes place. There is no
issue with emailers responding to things in the forum if they would just reply to messages using the "reply" button instead of just copying the
subject line - cannot get them to stop that so I mostly quit using the forum.

For most people, the FiTech system is a plug and play system with only minor adjustments to get started - without spark control that is. I do have a
600 type unit that has the spark control capability but I don't use it - there was not a 400 system available last Spring. I am not most people and I
have been having trouble. I have had issues from the time I first got the unit and just last weekend I proved (by substituting a friends FiTech unit)
that there was something wrong with the unit itself. It is now on the way back from FiTech and supposedly repaired although they seem to be reluctant
to tell me what was wrong. Probably a quality control problem (I am betting) and they are too embarrassed to tell me.

Why are you "fiddling" with your EBL?? Install it, load a Bin from RandyV or GeorgeB depending on your engine size. Then do a couple of tank-fulls
of VE learns and be happy!

Guys like me and RandyV et al "fiddle" with the EBL because it is so easy and we like doing it!... but you should not need to or you have something
wrong.

The EBL is so much more than simple fuel injection which is what you get with the FiTech system. The engine really wakes up with the spark control
Features of the EBL. Along with lean cruise and deceleration fuel cut-off..

I've had nagging problems with the EBL since day one. The box would overheat and go into limp mode...sent it back for repair...still does it when
it's hot in the cab, even tho I put a computer cooling fan in the case. Knock sensor failed after a year. Every time I've travelled into the high
deserts of Nevada and Arizona, the pinging starts. Gotta do a re-learn. Changed the intake manifold gasket...gotta do a re-learn. The list goes on.
I just want something designed in the 21st century that learns on it's own.

Affirmative, Steve...I have the Howell (Holley) system with EBL, knock sensor and ESC. Looking to switch to something self learning. W.

Bought one of the first systems from Justin and couldn't be happier
Starts up hot or cold with no fuss
No stumbling off the corners when just warming up ( blocked crossover)
Maybe better mileage now 9.5 to11?
This is. my observation over about 7000 miles last summer
