I just bought a 1976 Palm Beach $17,000

It needed a new fresh water tank and a rebuild of the air suspension.
Everything else is just 21 years old. Have the seller demonstrate the
water system including the water heater, furnace, A/C, Toilet,
generator, and engine. Anything that does not work right can be used as
bargaining chips on price. By the way, what is the price you're
starting at?

I am in no way a pro here I just bought my 76 Glenbrook about a month
ago. Tires are an issue the stock 16.5 rims and tires are a thing of the past
from what my tire dealer has told me. I am putting on the Alcoa 16 inch
rims. Be sure to check the distrubitor. Mine was very worn out. Check
out air system. Mine was in sad shape. Dont buy anything for it untill
you get your first copy of GMC Marketplace. I bought an air tank from
Cinnabar only to find I could have bought a stainlesteel one cheaper.

Its all about love. I presently have a much newer motorhome But I bought
this one because I have always been in love with them. Is it the best idea?
I dont know or care this is about love. Will it be the best one on the road
when I am done? Yes to the best of my abilities and resources. Will I give
up on it? NO! Will everyone approve of what I do to it? NO! This is my
dream I will build it to meet my needs when I retire in 2 years. Its not
not about weekness I can show you plenty of problems with new ones.
I belong to a camping club and believe me the people with newer
Motorhomes complain a lot more than thoes who have older ones.
When I mention this to our oldest member (92 year old woman who
drives a 79 Southwind) she told me that the people with new Motorhomes
have not learned to dance with their new partner. I will leave it at that.

Take Care

resort to new wheels and tires too. wonder who else produces 16.5's
there are several tire warehouse centers near here, have to see what
thier plans are.

John,

We've had pretty good luck with Generals, but they are "D" load range.
AFAIK, Michelin and Goodyear where the only companies making "E" load
range 16.5's.

I think I see Alcoa in my future too.
