Everyone's fun subject - Fire!
Returning from a small trip today, we saw a UPS truck that had it's driver side inner tire just merrily blazing away. Looked like the rear brake
locked up to the drum and the massive heat eventually set the inner tire on fire.
We stopped, all my vehicles have fire extinguishers inside. GMC had five. One attempted helper had completely exhausted his typical A-B-C fire
extinguisher without affecting the fire and it's progress.
I pulled out my Kiddie B-C fire extinguisher and it extinguished the fire very quickly. I was amazed.
Saved someone's Christmas.
Lesson is have the correct type of extinguisher for the fire you plan on fighting. The B-C type actually lowers the fire temp which helps to put it
out. Marine fire extinguishers are very good for vehicle fires.
Tom, time to buy another B-C type

Great job in helping prevent a worse fire! Check your Kidde fire extinguishers as many have been recalled. The Kidde website has all the affected
models listed. We had one in our home kitchen that we bought in 1980, and it was replaced with a new one under the recall.

I'll say again that there are differances in the extinguishers.
On areas where there are wires, it is imparative to have the ones that will
not cause corrosion.
We had one coach pulled in and since he had the Fire Fight unit we sold
him, the repairs were done with minimal labor. The Insurance claim adjuster
was surprised at how little the bill was.

Tom,

Those Kidde fire extinguishers are rechargable. All that is in them is 94% to 97% water, 3% to 6% AFFF or AR-AFFF concentrate and air pressure. The
local fire extinguisher place here uses nitrogen. Sometimes they also add antifreeze in place of some of the water. I believe the Kidde was
originally charged with 20%. I could be wrong on the percentage.
