What kind of hill are you referring to, a pull of 4% to 6% for 1/2 mile or
more, or ????
Being in mountainous country, we have one thats 4% for 10 miles and some
that are greater than 6% for 4 or more miles.
Just depends on your definition of 'hill'.
 
My definition of a hill and this time is a very large bridge with long
approaches, better than 5% grade and no loss in speed crossing the
bridge. My past experience was in Kentucky with the 3.07 gear and and
the smallest grade was a speed drop and on some of the large hills 10
to 15 mph. I find the 3.55 gear to be the best for my 403 and I don't
expect performance to be any different on long grades than crossing the
high bridge with the steep grades.
