Hi GMCers:
For those who know Bob Dunahugh of Iowa - his various properties suffered damage during yesterday’s inland hurricane. He is safe and sound but very busy w/ downed trees, loose of power, no water, holes punched in roofs, roofs blown off, loose of phone lines, etc.!
Fortunately his wife Linda was visiting family in Minneapolis so she does not have to deal w/ the hardships Bob is going thru.
He will be living in his GMC for the next day or 3 in order to have some normality in a upside down world rite now!
No damage to his Yenko’s or GMC MH that we know of at this point!
Just thought you all ought to know Bob and Linda could use some extra prayers rite now.
Thanks,
Mike/the Corvair a holic

Glad neither were injured. After loosing some steam, that derecho came through here late day yesterday. You could hear it first then it hit with
straight line winds. No damage here but some areas in Chicago got hit hard. Intense but short lived. GMC is earning it’s keep. Bob is industrious
and will rebuild.

I had a call from Bob an hour or so ago. Sounds like he got VERY lucky --
even with a lot of trees down and significant roof damage to several
buildings. All his vehicles seem to have just missed being impacted.
Sounds like the whole area really took a beating and is in bad shape now
and for a while. Apparently only one service station open in the whole
town right after the hurricane and one of those gave out of gas yesterday.
The other, he reported, has vehicles lined up 1.5 miles in both directions.

Guess I'd better shut down myself -- the lights are flickering in sync with
the thunder!

Bob does not live in a rural area. So that is significant amount of damage to shut a town down like that.. Town he lives in has 133,000 people.

I have not heard too much because of the covid not many people intermingling at work. My company has a significant work presence in iowa. will be
interesting to hear on my call tomorrow what might be going on. currently I am not that involved in iowa. I used to be very involved with iowa
crews. I know our IT Manager is not around as he is dealing with his home about an hour south of BOB.
