Most of us who live outside the USA are already aware of the additional complications related to shipping.

For large items going to Canada, I have found that shipping to a US address close to the border has always worked best. The buyer can then collect and declare the goods themselves. The handling and broker fees are excessive when having large items shipped outside the USA.

I frequently use a freight forwarder in NY (or Fastenal). Either service will hold my goods for a few days. I live less than 30 min from the US border, so it is convenient for me.
 
Fastenal is a Great way to move heavy stuff, if you're patient. I've shipped engines and garden tractors that way numerous times. Generally 150 bucks a pallet, doesn't seem to matter how far its going. I have had them lose stuff for a while though...
 
Greyhound is another economical way to ship larger items station to station. They do have a weight limit and it has to fit in the hold of the bus.

Good to know they are back shipping again after covid. My understanding is they are the best way to ship something on a pallet.
