Hi All,

Sombody (Scott?) posted a question about a bathroom ceiling "fantastic vent"
installation a couple of days or so ago.
I just had mine apart to replace some screws that had fallen out - from the
inside of the bathroom ceiling to the inside of the roof measures 3 inches -
I think that was the question, anyway.

On this topic, I probably should have seen this before on the web, but here
goes. I have a 76 Birchaven (the roof vent is toward the front on these).
The existing hole appears to be rounded on the corners and not standard
for today's 14" vents. I am considering installing a Fantastic vent. Will
I need to cut out the hole for this install?

Scott,

Just add the thickness of the aluminum roof (1/32''?) to the 3" I measured.
This looks like an older Fantastic Vent, the upper and lower bezels overlap
about 1" to 1.5" when
installed, so it shouldn't make much of a difference. I don't know what the
new ones look like.
