Just installed one in my 73 26'. Went well.
Remove old fan and vent completely. Using mirror check for obstructions
at desired cut locations. On mine I had a roof brace on outer side that
I had to clear. Stay at least an inch away from it as it has a flange
which I partly cut. Also I had an electrical conduit just behind old fan
going across coach so my new opening had to be more towards the front of
coach, several inches center to center. This was about in center of the
little room. I cut the inside opening first using a battery operated
circular saw (Makita) with blade setting just a little deeper than the
fiber glass panel. Opening was about 1/4 " bigger than new fan housing.
Then I drilled a small hole in roof at each corner of inside cut. Then
checked dimensions on roof again. Drew lines between holes and cut the
aluminum with a sabre saw. Broke blade first to shorten so it wouldn't
reach to inside paneling. I set the fan in polyurethane sealant and used
screws provided with fan. Went inside and connected 12v electrical and
mounted inside frame with 4 screws provided. Took me about 2 to 3 hours.
I love it. The skylight alone would have been worth the effort.
