Ok elbow grease will work, but you better have more than two elbows for the GMC!!

This will cost you a few $ for a new tool, but tools are always good to have.
Buy or rent one of the following:

Milwaukee variable speed buffer #5460
Porter Cable #7335 9" variable speed buffer

The Milwaukee is a larger and heavier buffer, but it get the job done faster, and
you will build some forearm muscles.

Go to your local auto paint store and get some FOAM buffing pads and the velcro
pad for the buffer. DO NOT GET THE COTTON BUFFER PADS unless you want to burn
through your paint. The foam ones are almost fool proof. Start with a light or
medium machine polishing compound and work a small area 2'x2'. Ask for some
advice from the paint store. It is not hard to do and work in overlapping areas
so you get an even job.

After you are done buffing then get some straight wax, not cleaner wax, apply
with a new foam buffer and then admire your handy work. If you take your time,
and let the buffer do the work you will think it just came back from the paint
shop.

One caution, do not let the buffer sit on one spot too long and be careful around
sharp corners or you will burn through the paint. The foam pads are not prone to
this but if you are careless you can do it.

You can also get the materials from Griott's Garage specialty catalog, but they
are some what (25%) more expensive than from the local paint shop. On the other
hand they do give complete instructions on use and how to.

You will probably spend about $125 in materials (pads, compound & wax) and
another $125 to $250 for the buffer if bought. But it will be worth it if you
take your time.
