When I was doing the timing chain on my engine I found a
small aluminum tag glued to the engine block near the
timing cover. The small metal tag looks much like the back
of a shot gun shell and has Warantee void if removed
stamped in it. I asked a former GM mechanic that works with
me and he told me that GM never put a tag like that on
their blocks. So I believe that the engine in my unit has
either been rebuilt or replaced (probably long ago, surely
many miles ago cause it needed the timing chain). Does
anyone out there know if this small tag indicates a
specific rebuilder? Just curious.
