electric pump vs OEM fuel pump

About 25 years into ownership of my original GMC, and over 100,000 miles, it
started to "vapor lock". I would stop for lunch and 30/ 45 minutes later try
to start. I started to carry a 1 gallon gas tank and one fuel cap full would
fire it right up.

I bought the "install an electric pump" hooha and hoped my troubles were
over. Packed up for my first trip, flipped on the switch, and pumped gas out
over about 15 feet from the pump to the front of the motor. After replacing
the old fuel lines with multiple holes, I never used the electric pump
again.

Dean,

Sounds like ethanol bit you doubly: First with vapor lock, then with
destroyed hoses. :-(
