EKE install update

Hi All,

Finally have EKE installed and hookup.( ended up installing on step in
engine compartment, and hooked power wire up stream of "+" side of coil
which read 12v with engine running ) Engine started with no problem, Checked
dwell and readjusted to 30 and set timing to 13degs. then put EKE online and
did test to see if it would retard, But it was a no go just stayed at
13degs.. Did the diagnostic procedure and came up with a bad transducer.
Called Caspro and they are sending me another transducer. At first he said
that would be $24.00 for the transducer, I said I just got it from you, What
do you mean???? Anyhow he is sending a free replacement with no need to send
mine back. Hope the replacement works or I might need to set my timing at
6degs. for our return trip to Antioch CA. in about two weeks, Since I
already did a first for us by filling the coach with regular gas. But if it
all works it should pay for itself in about 8 trips to CA.

Hi Larry,

Was going to install under seat, But after talking with Caspro went ahead
and installed as they suggest on step,I think I have alot of air movement
there. It is hot air but alot of movement. My under seat compartment is
carpeted and closed in it does get hot there also, with no air movement.
Yeah I was doing the tapping myself, short fast strokes. I thought it was at
least 2 a second??? But might go give it another try, I did try about 8
times till I couldn't take the heat in coach anymore. Don't guess it matters
but did you install transducer in upper or lower hole in head?

Thats a better spot in the openness of cab of coach!! Thats for sure the
coolest and driest

Yeah I'm going to give it another try with two people this time, If it works
I'll already have a spare transducer.
