Tom this is where it might get good.
Although direct injection on the Toronado manifold
could have some gain over TBI the Toro manifold
is not a good flowing one, even when used on a
motorhome.
With Direct Injection the tight bends in the Toronado
manifold would no longer (because of the tight bends
causing fuel to drop out) create different cylinder to
cylinder air fuel mixtures
However, although the air would be nice and dry
(no fuel) the motor would still be forced to draw
it through those same bends in the
manifolds. (better than original but not best).
The air cleaner can be remote mounted..........so.........
if the space required above the manifold were less
than with TBI maybe the result could be a good free
flowing manifold AND a flat floor.
That would be a real win.
