It's an acronym (i. e. meaning first letter of two or more successive
words). In this example, it can also mean "if I remember correctly".

Not trying to be critical of anyone, but this brings up a point that I'm
sure is confusing to some. As you can see, more than one meaning can be
attached. Unless you have a dictionary of the acronym's used on this net,
not everyone knows the real intended meaning of some acronym's, me included
sometimes. Perhaps we should not take the l**y way out in formatting our
future e-mail messages and spell out all acronym's for communications
clarity sake?????
