FWIW, This is what I'm using. Same as bdub. Works, but I put a small vacuum cap on the end of the hook to keep it from hopping out of the eye when going down the road. If it hops out, it can leave a rub mark on the paint. JWID.

Plenty of options with sizes etc. I wonder, did you have to buy two, to get the extra eye?
I plan to just use some magnets. I've got some 25mm x 2mm disc magnets that epoxy down to things without looking cluttered or busy. Stick one on the door, then have an opposing magnet, or some ferrous piece of hardware on a mating surface of a wall somewhere and you're in business. I like having them "auto engage" every time I fully open the door, and I never have to reach up and fool around with hardware.
In my house, I've integrated magnets into some of our door stoppers so the doors won't swing shut and trap the dog, or won't keep warm wood-stove air from traveling into the room. It's been handy, and isn't even visible.

So based on the images, the screw holes are drilled and mounted on the side rub strip for both the body & door? Any sealer applied to the screw holes?
I would assume so. Now I am thinking a flat bar magnet may be the right way to go.
