I have posted a few times to the net but generally I am a lurker. I've
owned my GMC for a year and a half, but for the past year it has been stored
in Chandler AZ and I have been living in Omaha. Hope to get some time soon
to get down there and start putting the front-end back together. Just not
in position to either ask questions or answer right now.

The coach had Bilstein's installed when I bought it. While using a pickle
fork to break the left lower ball joint loose, I heard a hissing sound. Upon
investigation, I found hydraulic fluid squirting out of a weld on the back
side of the shock. This continued until the gas pressure was relieved.
Apparently, the vibrations resulting from pounding on the pickle fork was
enough to cause the weld to fail. I think I'll look at KYB's (or however it
is spelled) for replacement.

I too have some interest in finding or building a front dinette to replace
the two big swivel seats that are installed now. The original owner was the
Cadillac dealer in Toledo and he used the coach as party bus for Ohio State
football games (according to the man I bought I bought it from).
