Saw this on another list and thought some of you guys might find it
interesting:

OTC (one of the better automotive specialty tool companies) has a new tool
set which turns almost any digital multimeter (DMM) and any square drive
ratchet or breaker bar into a very accurate (+/- 3% including transducer
error) and easy to calibrate (this is my favorite feature) torque wrench.

It works like this...take your favorite ratchet or breaker bar, attach the
appropriate extension (the set comes with 1/4" 20-200 in lbs, 3/8" 10-100
ft lbs, and 1/2" 25-250 ft lbs extensions) and the desired socket to the
other end. Plug the Torque module into the hot & common outputs of your
DMM and the cable leads into the OTC extension. The DMM will display the
torque values, in either direction, in either ft lbs or nm.

The tool set is handy for use in the shop and great for situations where a
normal torque wrench can't reach...just use your short or stubby ratchet
with the appropriate extension. I would not recommend it for most casual
users who merely use a torque wrench to ensure consistently tightened lug
nuts or bolts (I'm hesitant to use the word "accurate" as your average
$50.00 catalog torque wrench may have as much as 20% error in spots
throughout its range). The micrometer "click type" torque wrench is still
the one to take to the track...easy to use and convenient to carry.

The OTC set comes in a foam lined storage case...sells for around $500.00
(list price is $649.00). Its for the shop or serious tool junkie (I've got
mine on order). Anyone want to buy a slightly used digital Facom torque
wrench really cheap? SD
