Our '74 canyonlands had the bearings etc. rebuilt before we took
posession (sp!) in Oct., The outer CV boots were the original black NAPA
boots. the pass. side band would not stay on, so after 4 tries, using
different types of bands, we removed the knuckle, put on the NAPA
superboot & ground off the lower ball joint bolt 1/16" per the GMC
manual. I drove the coach (in the drive), using full steering lock in
both directions last p.m.. The boots stayed on!! I will drive on a short
trip + or- 20 mi. & check them before attempting an extended trip. As
