My super boots have an outer lip on them. Still in the box and have not
installed them yet.

sounds like you all are installing the boots stretched out so when you lower
the coach after installation they pull away from the outer race, I would
advise:
1. Ensuring that there is absolutely no grease under either seal lip. Be
very careful packing the boot.
2. installing the inner lip of the seal (small end) in the axel groove
nearest to CV joint.
3. Making sure that the large end of the boot is installed in the outer
groove of the outer race.
