curved curtain rod and leaking rof

once again, does everyone have a curved curtain rod for the rear of the motor home and should i countersink the new screws for the roof rail so they fit lower?

My original rod (maybe not GM original, but in the coach when I bought it)
was a straight rod of a rectangular cross section. Unfortunately I scrapped
the old rod since it was far too rusted to be of any use. I've seen similar
rods in hardware stores.
