I’ve got a question on where a cross member is where the curtain track is behind my driver seat. I have my curtain rail partially coming down and want to re-attach it but hoping to get into a cross member instead of the roof skin.

Thanks,
TG

Depending on what you have on your ceiling, you may be able to use an ice pick type of tool to poke through and find ribs. I have a carpet type of material glued to a plastic type stuff that resembles poster signs. Can't tell where I have poked. :)

Unfortunatly Billy there is no rib close to where the curtain track goes (see photo). You can see the original holes for the headliner to ceiling trim strip in the support rib. That is the outer edge of the headliner. What I did on ours is add a piece of Aluminum stock to the back of the headliner. I bent it carefully to fit at the ends, and carefully added a little more curve across the center to give it a upward spring to provide additional lift. Then I used small counter sunk screws and drilled and tapped the support to match the original pop rivet holes.

As you may remember, we have very heavy curtains, but there is no curtain sag after four years.

I was wondering if that was the case. Looks like I have another winter project.

Thanks,
Tom

I can confirm this as well, that track hangs only from the plastic headliner. It's not my favorite thing about the motorhome, wish it was into something more solid.

When I had the end cap out to paint it, wish I had cleaned up the roof over the headliner and attached some appropriately sized blocks of wood to screw that track into. It's pretty far down the to-do list now though.
