Do the "patio" and "window shade" awnings both use the same size roll covers?
If not, do they both mount the same distance above the side molding?
Finally, what is the distance between the awning mounts across the bow of the roof?

The awnings are different. The window shade one is shorter in length and does not use the same end caps, mounts, ect. I do believe the awning rail mounts same distance…. But keep in mind 73 and 77 gmc’s have different drip rails.

Not sure your last question. But measurements are not needed and waste of time doing. To install, mount the front mount. Install the awning and that determines where the other 3 mounting points are.

Other then measuring/installing the awning rail on the roof 2” above the drip rail No tape measure is needed.

Awning on a 26’ is just over 18’ long.

Convenient if the "top" of the awnings mount the same distance above the drip rails.
My goal is to find the length (width?) of the camber between two awnings - trying to suss useful dimensions of a "clean" roof.
As an aside, I think I'd be tempted to follow Jim B's example of two patio awnings.

Double check me…. I quick looked and awning rail says 2 3/4” above the awning rail. I originally stated 2” by memory. Zip dee is an easy call.

I have also seen different window awning install locations. I remember one that was below the awning rail.
