Correct transmission fluid

If it says it is compatible with the fluid that is supposed to be in your transmission, and is supposed to be used in transmissions, one would assume
it would not destroy the clutches or seals. If you elect to put it in the transmission before you get any feedback on your post, then you will be the
test pilot :) Take notes and let us know what it does!

Terry,
Back in 1973 when I was working for Ford , we were always requested to sell
our Rotunda Trans fluid.
The dealer service mgrs would not buy int it till I found out why it was
better than the ones in stores.
The people that were playing with the transmissions told me that the
Rotunda fluid had the correct Friction Modifiers in them. I sort of implied
to the service mgrs that I might be more inclined to honor extended
warranty should they use it.
Since I was always making sure they were paid on their warranty claims,
majority went with me.
Ford products uses different fluid, Now Honda and other new cars use their
own fluid as they do perform better with their own fluid.
I know our employees have us get the fluid from the dealers as we get
dealer discount.

Totally unscientific, but Chrysler wants people to use only their trans
fluid. I was able to get Dodge trans fluid at my fav parts store but it
was brand X and half the price compared to Chrysler's.
Backing up there was a shutter when under load....brand X did nothing to
help the situation.
5 Quarts of Chrysler's product was added along with a filter.
Shutter has been gone for 3 months now.

So my point is...I dunno...use what's recommended as they likely know
better??

Life is too short to hold a grudge; slash some tires and call it even !

"If you have to add stuff to your fluid, you are using the wrong fluid"
I buy gallons of Valvoline Dex/Merc and sleep well at night. The Hydramatic engineers knew their stuff - best in the world I've heard. Dexron is made
by a synthetic process by definition. I don't want to add any miracle slippery stuff into a transmussion where friction materials are bathed in oil.
