Coach for Sale- TZE

I am a new owner of a 1975 Glenbrook. I am used to parking on the beaches of
TX on the sand. My last mh had duallys and I never got stuck. Am I going to
have any problems in the sand with the front wheel drive?

Yep. IMO you don't want to be on the sand in your GM. You could try some
flotation tires. 31 x 10.5 x 16.5. Never know, it may work. Darren

I'd be REAL careful. Our 25 years of driving our GMC has taught us that
while it is great on pavement, it isn't particular adept at offroading.
We've had trouble on wet grass, gravel, and other loose surfaces. It also
has buried itself VERY quickly on muddy ground. I would guess that sand
would present a problem.

I'm someone will completely disagree, but I'm just telling you about my
experiences.

Glen, I agree with the other replies. In 14 years driving this I've been
stuck on bumps in grass, gravel and sanded snow. It doesn't have the tire
surface for road contact that a dually drive wheel does. If you try it be
sure to have good tow insurance and maybe some surplus PSP.

While chains are good for traction on snow and ice, on sand they may just
make sinking into axles happen even faster.

More than likely, you will get stuck. My rule is, my front wheels never
leave solid ground.

No you won't Papa Glenn!

I have seen several GMCs that run with dual tires mounted up front. They
say it helps keep them in the ruts with the trucks. It looks weird and
must have some effect on wheel bearing life but other than starting a new
debate I won't go beyond that.
