We had the double seat in our GMC. Ours does swivel all the way around
which is nice. It seems like the same pedestal as the drivers seat with
some additional stuff on top of it, but I can't say for sure. One of our
very early GMC modifications was to use the base of the double seat (we cut
up the seat to get the bottom frame from it) to mount two bucket seats to.
The original double seat was pretty uncomfortable for long trips. We used
two fairly narrow buckets (late 80's IROC Camaro) which still allows the
combo to swivel all the way around. These seats are not the most
comfortable in the world, but they are much better than the original
double. We would like to put in nicer leather seats, but most of the
comfortable looking ones we have seen look too wide to allow the swivel to
work. We really don't want to give up the swivel as we often use it to use
the seats as living area seats. They are right by the outlet of the A/C,
so they are very popular in the hot weather
