It looks to me like Zeb Frady, Southland Motorhome Center, in Buford, GA is
my closest repair facility. Does anyone know of a facility closer to the
middle of NC? Also, does anyone have any comments about Southland Motorhome
Center - Pro or Con?

Tom,

We have used Zeb, and what he did for us was good. We made an
appointment and explained that we were full-timers were driving
from Winston-Salem. He went to work on our GMC as soon as we
arrived. For some reason, he did not get it finished that first day.
He offered to let us stay in it on his property, but we had family in
Atlanta. It is not a fancy shop, but he does know what he is doing,
and he will answer your questions.

When we lived in Winston Salem we were having some
Transmission problems, so we looked up a local member in the
GMC International listing. I believe he lived in Clemmons/Bermuda
Run area. He use a truck repair place in Mocksville. He thought
that they were the best. I talked with his mechanic who seemed
very knowledgeable about the GMC. It turned out that he
recommended Statesville Transmission shop. They did an
inspection on our GMC, and they seemed OK too.

If you have the GMC International roster maybe you can find him. I
don't have my list right now.

Tom, in my humble opinion, Zeb Frady at Buford, GA, has done a lot of
chassis repair work for me on my GMC. Above all, he is honest and very
knowledgeable about our coaches. He has all the tools needed and a well
equipped shop to work in. He stocks most parts for the common repair
jobs, so I've not had to wait for something to be shipped in. His whole
family, son and wife included, help with the business and they have
always been very helpful to me. I suggest you give them a call to
discuss your needs. If you are not going to do the work yourself,
don't let some mechanic who's not worked on GMCs before conduct
on-the-job training on yours. Good luck.
