Clearance lights LED bulbs

I am putting in LEDs in the rear clearance lights and of course the polarity is reversed. I am not keen on removing the inside rear panel. Where is
the junction for the 5 lights and are they all junctioned together or separately. Could I make an access opening to get at all the wires? I could also
swap the wires in the fixtures, there does seem to be some slack in the red and black wires.Is the polarity reversed on the front clearance lights
too?

Hi Eric

I was able to get mine off the coach, and had enough wire to reverse them to the proper polarity, from the roof of the coach.

I didn’t have to pull the inside cap.

You’ll want to have fresh well nuts.

Or—- there are complete assemblies for not a lot more than the led cob bulbs themselves.

Then you’ll have fresh gaskets, too.

But you’ll likely find the polarity is all over the map.

Reverse it at the light.
No need to change the wiring

Get one of these per light:

On the AC leads, ground one and run the power lead to the other. Wire the LED using correct polarity of the + and - leads from the rectifier. Quick
and dirty way to polarize from any source. Easier than chasing wires.

The replies seem to be assuming that you're replacing the marker lights, but I think you're talking about just replacing the bulbs with LEDs, right?
I don't recall anyone switching the wires at each light to correct the polarity, but I suppose it could be done. The question is, why? New LED
lights can be had for a reasonable price, and replacing the lights would address the (assumed) rusted chrome bases, the aged gaskets, removing years
and layers of sketchy caulking and pretty much eliminate the potential for future leaks.

I'm generally of the opinion, do it once and be done.

why don't you just buy 12v ac led bulbs. It won't matter what polarity is at the clearance lights then.
