Hi everyone! We have a 76’ Palm Beach that has a leaky hinge on the exterior hinge for the city water/electric hook-up door on the driver side. We found it after a rain and noticed a damp spot on the floor. After nearly 3 days of trouble shooting we found that hinge let’s water in, pools in a trench behind the main closet access panel that goes to the backside of the city hook-up, and then finds the path of least resistance to the floor.

Our temp fix is using marine tape on the exterior hinge when rain is coming. The issue, beside the leak, is we live in Central Florida and it rains 5 months a year. Anyone have this issue or have a good idea of how to seal the leak?

The seal between the body panel and the inner box has deteriorated. I fixed mine by cleaning out the old stuff and filling it with dumdum (https://www.eastwood.com/ew-flexible-strip-caulk-bk-2-lbs.html). Also, the plastic box itself has a drain. It's located on the forward end of the compartment near the outside wall. You may need a small mirror to find it. The drain and/or the tube attached to it may be plugged. Since you already have the back of the closet out it'll be easy to reattach the drain tube when you knock it off while attempting to clean it. 😉

Excellent, thank you Christo!

Well I just learned something new as well. I'll have to see if my hacked-up coach still has a drain in that box.

I ended up using a 10cc syringe that I filled with water and shot down the drain to clear the line. Mine (and I’m guessing most of ours) has a black drain tube under the box near the air bag area so I traced that to where the drain home was
