I think the 455 is part of the 'new' big block series..

Also IIRC..
The various 'odd' size engines were made from different block,crank combinations..
Ie; 302 = 283 crank in 327 block
403 = 327 crank in 400 block, etc..
The main difference between the 327 and 400 blocks was the 400 was a recasting to allow for bigger bore sizes..
Otherwise the small block exterior 'stuff' was the same.
