Eugene,
My Nokia has what they call 'a data adapter' of sorts.
It plugs between 3watt amplifier and handset and has an RJ11 jack. Any
regular phone stuff works. I run that to a 4 plug extension and plug in
cordless, external modems and also my pc card modem instead of using it
directly with the CellPhone as it'll only do the .6 watts as a handheld. The
3watt is optional. The data adapter can be used with the hands-free kit
without the 3watt kit.

I believe Motorola has a similar option.

I used to have a Mot Bagphone and I had an RJ11 adapter for it as well.
