First my thanks to Patrick for continuing this list. It has helped me
immensely in reconditioning my coach.
I am in the process of carpeting the coach and am interested in ideas
everyone has concerning how this is best done around the engine access
cover. I have used the
Insulator 5/8" material (mentioned on the list) as a pad. I am unsure
whether it would be best to just leave a cut edge, or place those
aluminum stair threads. Also has anyone used those gas cylinders ( the
ones for the back gen door), for the engine compartment?

I have thought about having the edges sewn with carpet edging along both sides.

>I left the cut edges. At Walmart bought a tube of Gem Tac adhesive to
>seal the cut edges. The adhesive is clear and not noticable.
