California Smog is get a little more complicated each year.
but what is the cutoff date as of right now?
Do you have to smog 73, 74 & 75's as of right now?
I think in 2000 it will be a straight 30 year cutoff..but what is it
now.

Thanks Guys,

Hello Don,
Effective 1 Jan 1998, the 1973 and earlier vehicles were exempted. I
have a 1973 Canyon Lands, not to mention a 73 Mustang Convertable and a
1973 Ford truck so I made out like a bandit. There will be a delay of
several years before the 1974s will be exempted and then it will move
year by year. I am looking forward to getting rid of the "J" Smog 455
Heads and I am going with "C" heads with the big valves after adding the
hardened seats and some port work The original "J" head is said to be
the worst flowing Olds head ever produced for the big block because it
is shroaded at the exaust valve down to approximately 1". Should be a
good improvement along with a good cam and set of headers. You can't do
this stuff if you have a later motorhome and get it through smog yet.
