Bumper Bolt Size

As part of my exterior refurb I had my bumpers re-chromed. Unfortunately, I threw away the nasty old rusted bumper attach bolts. Can someone tell me the size of these bolts? Looking at the square holes in the bumpers and slots in the splice plates, I assume they are carriage machine bolts. These are part #8 in assy 11.006 (front bumper) on page 11-3 of the parts manual. Part number is 142414, qty of 16 for each bumper (front & rear) - total of 32 per vehicle. Thanks for the help.

Regards,
Pete

When I looked up that number I came up with this bolt.
Bolt-Carriage 3/8-16X1 1/4
Does that look about right?

I replaced a number of the bumper bolts back around 2005 mainly because they were rusting under the chrome and looked like hell. Replaced them with chrome bolts that I got from...IIRC...McMaster Carr. My coach is stored outside now and have noticed that those bolts are showing signs of corrosion again. My next batch of bolts will be stainless steel. Gonna cost more, but will not corrode and will be the last ones I buy. JWIT

Thanks for the effort Steve. The actual chrome carriage bolts size is not given, only the GM part number. Hence, my question. I have played around with some spare carriage bolts that I have and 3/8'-16 UNC and either 1" or 1-1/4" seems to be the right size for the carriage bolts too.

LarryW, I am going with Stainless too. For all the effort and cost that this bumper refurb has been, it's worth it.
