I have heard that some of the GMCMH owners are using the Brake Lock/Lever
Lock system for parking brake supplement. We use them on airport ground
equipment. I copied down the NAPA part numbers for anyone that may want
them. I do not use them myself, but we have had good results using them on
the airport ground equipment.

Brake Lock (electric operated) NAPA/United 57515
Lever Lock (manual operated) NAPA/United 57504

Russ:

Are the below items installed in the brake line? If so, where are they
placed in the line?

Which type is used on your equipment?

Yes, the items are installed in the brake lines. When actuated they will
block the fluid from returning to the master cylinder, which will prevent
the brakes from releasing. When released they will return the brake system
to normal. Most installations are on the rear brakes (shoe systems) and
they provide additional parking brake capabilities. I do not use them on my
GMCMH. I do use them at work on airport ground equipment (bag tractors,
belt loaders, ect.). We usually use the electric controlled brake lock. It
can be mounted near the rear brakes and a wire ran up to a switch on the
dash. We use the manual lever lock system when we do not have 12 volt
electricity available on a piece of equipment. If I later on decide to put
on my GMCMH I would use the electric brake lock system. I have thought
about doing it but have not taken the time. Maybe this winter if I am not
using the coach.
