Fuel system mods, Got the new dist in, new plugs, replacement carb, exhaust manifold gasket in, new exhaust donut. Started right up. Started so
quick the starter could just barely be heard. Ran it around the campground to get to the dump station. All good, so far. This was all completed
about 1500. Hooked up the toad and went out for a test run. Figured if it passed we would keep going. Heading for you.
Crap - runs like crap. Back to Tall Sycamore campgrounds. Where before, with the sick coil it backfired through the carb, now at least the backfire
is going out the back. I'm going to read up on possible causes for after fire. The only thing I can think of is I did not get the timing right. CFO
is saying enough is enough and lets get it towed back to Wi$con$in. Not that bad as we have good tow coverage though AAA & stateFarm. However still
a bummer.
Thanks for the heads up on your location. If anything changes I'll let you know by email. I know you don't use email but with my hearing and yours,
especially through cell phones, it is about all that works well.

Thanks for location update. Right now I'm finishing that down pipe to manifold connection. Then timing. If it all works ok we'll be rolling.
Depending on our confidence level we will head for home or Hebron.
A funny: one way or another's will be heading towards Hebron. Hebron WI is about 5 miles away from home.

KenB - Update. I got the GMC running only to find out I have a completely blown out LH exhaust manifold gasket. I've picked up a new one and will
be, hopefully, getting it installed this morning. I'll also email you as my hearing is also not so great.
