Blower relay

I am catching up on old posts as I was away on holidays. It does not
look like you got your answer.
The relay is Standard RY-12 (standard is the brand name) $17.00 CDN.
I lost my high speed fan on my trip. Before you buy the relay, jumper
from the pos. battery to the red and white striped wire on the relay.
Don't pull the wiring connector off, just touch the jumpered wire into
the connector. Have the fan switch on high and the ign.switch on. The
fan should run.
My coach is a '73 and power is supplied to the fan from the alt. when
the engine is running just as Gene has stated on his site. If the engine
is not running then there is no power to the red/white wire.
I found that the problem was not the relay but the in-line fuse near
the fan. My fuseholder was "cooked" from all the years. It crumbled when
I tried to get it apart Someone else just in the past two weeks had
this very problem.
Go with a tripable breaker if possible to replace the fuse. Hope this
helps.

Thanks for the reply. It turned out to be the in line fuse holder was "
cooked". Went with 30amp blade type fuse and no more problem.

I'm still trying to get my passenger side AC vent to open. I have vacuum
to the actuator and it opened once while I was playing with it and I
can't figure out why. Looks like you have to take entire dash apart to
replace the actuator???

Meant to get back to you on that one. No go, it won't open. I'm
wondering if maybe there just isn't enough vacuum at that actuator and
after I install the NEW AC-Delco aux vacuum pump it may make up the
difference???
I was hoping the louvers would come out from the front and allow me
access to the nuts on the actuator but apparently the dash has to be
taken apart to gain access. Why should it be easy?
