Here is what's behind the Black Lister. Born, A few days before the Big
War #2, 5 days in fact. Raised in Shreveport, La, Still can't figure out
how I got to the Mississippi Delta. Need that GMC so I can leave
permanently. College in Louisiana, Business Major. Picked up wife, Donna,
there in between studies(?). Lucky enough to graduate during the height of
Viet Nam and Uncle gave me an invitation. Got my fixed wing license through
ROTC in college. Went though rotary wing school at Ft Rucker and off on
the mighty adventure. Flew Cobra gunships and was Platoon leader there.
Came back and flew commercial for a year, then babies started coming so went
into sales to be home a bit more. Moved to Greenville in '72 with a job
with RJR Tobacco in sales. Started losing my hearing 20 years ago, high
frequency loss about the same frequency of a turbine engine. Coincidence?
Last three years have lost more in my good ear to where the company offered
me a disability retirement. I took it and now I'm ready to roll. Have wife
of 31 years(same one all that time) Daughter who is a Pharmacist, and our
son died last year at the age of 26. He was chief technician for the local
cable TV company, and my electronics guy.
That's where I am today. Tomorrow, who knows? Just take 'em as they come.
