Bathroom Modification

Hey, how is this for a modification. The way I solved the problem of having
only one dump tank was to take the toilet out. I used a stainless steel
cover and siliconed it over the hole. It looks fine, besides it is covered
with the potty. I put a plug on the water line and pushed it through the
hole. The toilet had a little silver plug that covered the water line hole
in the wall perfectly. I then bought a nice cushy port a potty and put 1/2
inch rubber feet on it so it clears the old toilet opening, which sticks up
about 1/4inch. What I like about this arrangement is that I can take the
potty out of the shower for more room, and I don't have to worry about
running out of capacity as I can drain the gray water on the ground. (I live
in the country and water my apple trees with it.) Also I do not have to go
to a dump station to empty my coach. A toilet will now suffice.

Of course I saved the toilet just in case I change my mind, or if I sell the
coach, I have the option of putting it back to original.

Very True Tom, but at this stage of life, our families favorite activity is
going to the sand dunes in Glamis, Calif. and that is not really an option.
It is okay to let the gray water drip on the ground overnight and empty the
tank. I do like the idea of a macerator pump though. I will consider that
when it becomes a better option for me. Thank you for your input though. I
seem to agree and respect your input and advise. Including what I have read
about the torque converters. I have an Uncle who owns a machine shop in AZ.
he has seen the outcome of the wrong torque converters on new motorhomes as
well.

David - when I moved to Calif. in 1984 it was illegal to dump grey
water on the ground anywhere in the state. A trick that some people
that had separate gray water tanks used at the time was to use a
bucket with a hole in the bottom. The state caught on to that trick
and I heard that they issued tickets to people doing so.

If you are dripping it out to the ground, just be aware that it is a
vioation of the California laws and of the FMCA Code of Ethics.
