Netters...
Baby is coming home! That is, our third child: the 76 Birchaven. Of
course it's now a "Custom": new paint, new interior, new seats, fridge,
dash, carpet, a Darren Podd (thanks, Chuck ^_^ ), new ac, Honda genset, etc,
etc.
Talked to Jim Bounds this evening and he is working 24 / 7 to finish up in
time to deliver the coach to us at Rayne!
He's working very hard to get everything ship-shape for a grand entry at
Rayne. From Houston, it's only 200 miles so we'll be saved the long trip to
Orlando to pick up the baby!
Now, we just need to make sure Jim doesn't fall "Asleep at the Wheel"
(remember that group..?) when he drives from Orlando. I'm thinking about
sending him a 55 gal drum of very strong coffee to take on the road!
Well, we're excited! Jim's descriptions of our refurbished coach sound
fabulous! For those not going to Rayne and won't have a chance to see for
yourself, I'll be taking pics and posting them on the web site asap. For
those that will be there, we'll be parked next to Jim's Dumpster at Rayne,
so come by and take a look at the our new coach! (Tom and I will also have
some of the replaced GMC stuff with us: wheels, hubcaps, old hitch, windows,
etc, etc.)
PS: Jim B. mentioned that he will have an extra set of windshields (ie, not
yet spoken for) with him for anyone that is interested in replacing their
old set. For those going to Rayne and want this set, it's best to call, not
e-mail him. Jim said he hasn't had time to get to E-mail lately and has a
bunch of mail still waiting for him. He apologised for that and said he
will get to it all after the Rayne Rally but right now he has a lot of work
that needs to be done first! (I understand his Dumpster is getting new
paint too...wonder what it will look like??)
See ya'll at Rayne!
