thanksI have one coach with a Zip Dee, and one coach with an A&E. Both have the aluminum protective shell that saves the fabric. It's pretty essential.
The A&E arms are fatter, and they really obstruct the passenger mirror. It is a little easier to set up in my opinion, but that's a marginal difference. Zip Dee still has support for theirs after all these years, so that's encouraging.
The hardware looks like A&E, but the arms are curved differently ( better)The awning on my coach is unique. It contours to the coach for a better radar cross signature.

The PO installed some metal clasps to hard-lock the awning to prevent deployment as speed-brakes.
I took me 2 years to figure it out how to remove the metal locks and open it up

Those arms are incredible. I think someone took all the old A&E hardware and custom made new arms for it. Considering the telescopic aspect, that's quite impressive! The awning on my coach is unique. It contours to the coach for a better radar cross signature.

I really like this installation and this is the first time that I saw a horizontal awning deployment. If the lower arms could telescope to even further length the awning would tilt upwards as I envision in "The Ultimate GMC Offgrid Boondocks Solar System Design."The awning on my coach is unique. It contours to the coach for a better radar cross signature.

Keith,I have an A&E, it's perfectly serviceable. It's only downside(s) are it doesn't have the protective cover so the awning fabric bakes in the sun and it doesn't have good locks for travel so it can blow open
