I do have the documentation, but it is in my motor home in Florida. I have
quite a few questions that may lead to some interesting conversation, such
as the fan clutch. On my first time towing a car with this rebuilt
transmission, when in Florence NC, I thought I felt it shift down. By the
time I got off the highway and into Florence, I wasn't able to move the
vehicle, ("??" ). Golby's Service Manager, who seems quite knowledgeable
says it was the fan clutch kicking in. I later found out that they found it
locked up. Any comments?

Tom -- and all,
The internet is becoming a potentially huge weapon against the quick-buck
scam artists out there. When I suspect I've inadvertently wandered into the
lair of some potential fiscal predator, I will drop -- in an offhand but
firm way -- the comment that I'm veeeerrrry active on the net and routinely
share my experiences (good AND BAD) with suppliers and tradesmen with -- oh
- -- 20 to 30 MILLION of my closest friends in various chat rooms, discussion
forums and mailing lists. The effect is often akin to slowly pulling out a
pad and pen and gazing deeply into the eyes of some insolent or hostile
functionary while calmly asking for the name and phone number of the idiot's
superior. Instant attitude adjustment often follows.
If the information you post is accurate and you have the necessary back-up
for any statements you might make about, for example, GETTING RIPPED OFF!,
you are pretty safe (unless the miscreant knows where you live).

I think it might be a good thing to assemble a second "Black List" of rip
off artists we've all encountered in our travels so as to -- insofar as
possible -- try to keep our fellow netters out of their clutches
(transmission shop pun FULLY intended as we've all been there, done that).
