Russell, most of the attendees aren't Dog Mavens. Galbavy used to show, but hasn't for years, the others have pets who sometimes come along. By all
means join us. I'll get there Monday the 11th, and leave the following Monday. Saturday and Sunday I'll be tied up with Meet The Breed, the rest of
the time I'll be loose. On Saturday night, I host our Meet The Breed volunteers, usually three or four folks at an Italian joint in Apopka and
everyone else comes along. Traditionally - if three or four years is a 'tradition' one coach or another provides an entree each night It isn't a
requirement, we usually end up 'out' one night anyway. Someone found a Korean joint a couple of years ago and they stayed open for us one night.
Really good. Meantimes, I normally barbeque 'almost famous' chicken one evening and boil some corn. Somebody- R C Jordan maybe ? - often provides
down east pulled pork pig barbecue, last year somebody had red beans and hamhock that had been slow cooked all day, etc. Somewhere along the line we
did one night of leftovers and still sent food home with people. I began the cookout mostly because I'm diabetic and have to pay attention to what's
in what I eat, and barbecue for one seems sort of silly. It isn't a requirement, there actually aren't any requirements. There are two Rules on my
site, no politics spoken here and no religion spoken here. Under your awning, do as you wish. Book a site for all or part of the week and show up.
If you're that close to Orlando you're likely spent time and money in SkyCraft... if not, bring your credit card and join us. I have an Ikea in
Atlanta, most of the other people don't have one close so there's usually a pilgrimage there. If you favor sitting on your tail and drinking beer,
you'll have company.
I think that covers it, anyone else who wishes to show up is most welcome.. it started as GMCers and has spread to the occasional SOB over time....
just congenial people who want to kick back for a week and coast.
For the record, I belong to the local Episcopal church and like most rural Southerners vote against various folks on election day.
Oh yeah - the bears. There are reputedly bears in the park. Actually there ARE, I've seen one at least. There are more stories than bears though -
ask.
