The best stuff that I have ever used to polish and clean aluminum wheels
is a product called Never-Dull Wadding polish by Eagle One. I used it
on the race car years ago, we used to get it at aircraft supply places.
Auto Zone has it and it is almost next to the Mother's stuff but I think
that it works better and it cost a little less($3.79 a can)

AutoZone people tell its great. Comes in a jar. I want to begin to keep my
Alcoa's cleaned up since I have heard others say that is pretty hard if you
don't.

Gene,
Try SimChrome (made in Germany)... this stuff is amazing!!! I have tubes
20 years old and they work like new. Takes some elbow grease but you can
impress anyone by using an old penny in 10 sec it looks better than new. Use
it, wax 'em and they are good for a year. Get it at almost any motorcycle
shop...

Agreed, we use Simcrome to finish-polish the aluminum molds we make.
(molds used in plastic injection presses)
stuff works wonders.........

I've used it on my Alcoas and it does work great.

Gene,

That is what we use. We've been using the Mother's polish for many years
now and haven't really found anything any better. It still is quite a bit
of work, but the results are good. We always put a coat of wax on the
wheel after polishing as it seems to keep the finish much longer. If you
really keep up on the waxing of the wheels, you don't need to polish them
nearly as much. We have had the best results with the old Auri liquid wax
(yes, the stuff you can pour acid on, light on fire, etc :). They are
apparently still in business, but it looks like they have changed the
formula. I suspect that the old stuff had much more abrasives in it than
the new stuff which means it won't work as well to more finely polish the
Alcoas. We haven't tried it though, so I don't know. Since we have run
out of the Auri, we have tried Eagle One Carnuba which seems to work pretty
well. The liquid waxes seem much easier to apply and wipe off though, so
we are now trying a Mother's liquid carnuba/cleaner wax. It hasn't been on
long enough to give any results though.
