Alternator

There was a discussion about the different prices for the Auto Zone
alternator number DL 7157. Can someone tell me what year and make car
that alternator is from.

The first part of January there was a discussion about the different
prices for the Auto Zone Dura Last 7157 alternator. Can someone tell me
the make and year of car this alternator fits. I wrote to Auto Zone to
ask about there pricing policy and was not happy with there answer so I
will look elsewhere for the parts I need.

76 thru 78 tornado (403), Cadillac . The dura last brand may be sold by
other chains.

Other Jim,

When I bought mine in mid-December, I just
went to the counter and asked for '73 Olds
Toronado (as my GMC is a '73).

Seemed to be all the info the counter guy
needed, as he went right to the shelf and got
one. IIRC, I paid $109 in Needles, CA. Might
have been $99.

Jim,
When I bought my DL7157 at Autozone I asked for the 100 amp alternator for
a '79 Eldarado. It fit exactly in the place for the OEM 80amp alt. on my
455.
